Awards

Honor the choice
that elevates sport.

The World Fair Play Awards make ethical excellence visible and give every generation examples worthy of emulation.

World Fair Play Awards

Four expressions of
ethical excellence.

Recognition is conferred at three levels—Letter of Congratulations, Diploma of Honour, and World Fair Play Trophy—across the principal categories of act, career, and promotion, with a dedicated distinction for youth.

Act of Fair Play

Pierre de Coubertin World Trophy

For a voluntary act that upholds the opponent, the contest, or human dignity—often beyond what the rules require and at real competitive cost.

Career

Jean Borotra World Trophy

For a sporting life marked by virtuous competitiveness: sustained excellence, integrity, and respect in both victory and defeat.

Promotion

Willi Daume World Trophy

For an individual or organization whose education, leadership, media, or structural work advances fair play.

Youth

Fair Play Trophy for Youth

Under the auspices of the IOC President, this distinction recognizes young ambassadors who embody fair play on and beyond the field.
